Tales of vampires have captured the attention of audiences for millennia. Storytellers have woven vampiric narratives full of seduction, mind control, shapeshifting, and blood that are enthralling and horrific all at once. The mythology of the vampire has existed at least as early as ancient Mesopotamia and is abundant throughout folklore around the world even to this day as an entire genre of fantasy literature has sprung up to romanticize the many possible realities of undead life. Vampires represent virtues we admire and desire such as charisma, immortality, intelligence, power, and unabashed sexuality. They are also psychologically tortured and frequently lonely and misunderstood, something most of us can relate to.
