Something Wicked Soy Candle (absinthe and blackberry)

Macbeth was first performed in 1606 and is among Shakespeare’s most well-known tragic plays. Fresh from a victorious battle, Scottish general Macbeth stumbles upon a trio of witches (the Weird Sisters) who prophesize that he will be become king. Although Macbeth had no previous ambitions for such a position he quickly fell for the temptation for power. It was Lady Macbeth who planned the king’s murder that led to her husband's ascension to the throne. Due to paranoia and continued chaos-causing prophesies by the Weird Sisters, Macbeth became obsessed with maintaining power and began killing off his supposed rivals. Macbeth becomes a tyrant and cannot withstand an uprising against him and was ultimately beheaded. The story is a tale of self-fulfilled prophesies and the consequences of manipulation and unchecked ambition.

Something Wicked is inspired by the Weird Sisters in William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. A spooky blend of absinthe and blackberry. Absinthe is an anise-flavored spirit derived from plants and herbs, namely the flowers and leaves of wormwood. The spirit has a natural green color making it appear as if it came straight out of a witch’s cauldron. This fragrance is mixed with tart blackberries that gives the concoction even more of a dark edge. It is not for the faint of heart. As fervently chanted by a Weird Sister, “by the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.”
