Fragrance notes: peach nectar and lilac

The American South is known for many things, one of which is the wealth of ghost stories that have been passed from generation to generation. With its unfortunate history of war, oppression, disease, and tragedy, it shouldn't be a surprise that remnants of tortured souls have remained after death.

Haunted is inspired by the abundance of spooky tales of Southern hauntings. The base of this fragrance is an iconic fruit of the South: peach! The aroma of fresh peach nectar is mouth-wateringly sweet, luscious, and fruity. The fragrant floral top note of lilac gives this peach fragrance a well-rounded and grounded vibe. Lilac was chosen for this fragrance to refer to a ghost story from West Virginia that I particularly love, The Telltale Lilac Bush.

The tale tells the story of an old man and woman who had marital problems for years. One day, the wife went missing. People suspected the old man had killed her, but without a body, they couldn't prove anything. The old man began living a boisterous life, and during one of his parties, a group of young men were sitting on his porch talking when the large lilac bush growing nearby began beating on the windowpane next to them. There was no breeze that day, so they felt that the bush was acting almost as if it were beckoning them. Ignoring the old man's protests, the young men dug up the lilac bush. They were stunned when the roots were found to be growing from the palm of a woman's hand. The old man screamed and ran down the hill toward the river, never to be seen again.

Bring your favorite Southern ghost stories to life with this Haunted candle!

This story comes from a collection of ghost stories published by Ruth Ann Musick called The Telltale Lilac Bush and Other West Virginia Ghost Tales

such a beautiful warmer months scent

it's so lush and lovely and perfect for the warmer months (and really when you need a reminder that the warmer months exist). my grandma had lilac bushes around her house, so the scent of lilac reminds me of playing outside in my childhood. this candle's scent isn't artificial smelling or cloying which is so nice because i am very sensitive to chemically and overly sweet scents. this candle has a special place in my heart because of the nostalgia it invokes. and i love this company and feel good about spending my monies here. thank you, harmony for your magical scents

I adore this new scent for summer. It's perfect for a summer day with low fi music in the background and reading your favorite book on a Sunday afternoon. I will be stocking up so I have more for next year!

Smells like Summer

I love the smell of this candle. Mostly fresh peaches with a hint of lilac. It makes me feel like a kid with summer vacation ahead and not a care in the world.

The haunted south

When I think of ghosts, I think of New Orleans and Savannah…. And the smell of lilac and peaches takes me immediately to those places. This candle transports you to the old south, which is undoubtedly haunted. All that’s missing are the smells of musty old books and the salty ocean breeze.

Beautiful mix of fruity, floral, and mysterious

This is a gorgeous summer candle - simple without being boring. The peach nectar note is what hits you first, and then the floral note of the lilac creeps in subtly after a bit - just enough to not be overpowering, as some floral scents can be. The combination is a refreshing, summery scent with a hint of mystery, like twilight creeping onto the quiet streets of a sleepy Southern town.
