Fragrance notes: nag champa, guava, hibiscus
Kali (pronounced “kah lee”), also called "She Who Is Black", "She Who is Death", and the "Dark Mother," is the Hindu goddess of creation and destruction. A fierce demon-slaying warrior with the power to control time. She is frequently depicted in gruesome paintings of blood and death with skin the color of coal or dark blue. This symbolic representation depicts the belief that Kali is the darkness from which everything is created and also the liberator of souls from the physical body upon death. She is energy, creation and death, the cycle of life, and mother nature.
This sophisticated fragrance is inspired by the intoxicating smells of India's herbs, flowers, and fruits. Nag Champa, a popular Indian incense created from the blend of frangipani (plumeria) flowers and sandalwood, creates the foundation for this intricate fragrance. The next layer is the soothing floral essence of hibiscus which represents the practices of Kali’s devotees who offer red hibiscus flowers to her as a sign of respect. Topping off this aromatic trip to India is the sweetness of a freshly cut juicy guava. This riveting experience of the senses is dedicated to a most complex and intriguing goddess.
► 3 ounce clamshell: contains (6) 1-inch breakaway wax cubes
► Use 1-2 cubes at a time in an electric wax warmer
I was expecting this to smell more like the incense at a hippie flashback store, but the nag champa plays well with the other scents. There are notes of sweetness and it's not overwhelmingly floral, which I love.
These melts last a long time. 4, 5 days before the scent starts to fade. I also love that they pop right out once you turn the melter off to cool the wax. Gorgeous scent. Just a fantastic recipe for wax melts!
the mix of the heady earthiness of the nag champa pairs perfectly with the floral to create a scent that calls to mind imagery of contrasts: dark earth, bright flower petals, scorching heat, cool flowing waters, rich spiciness, sweet fruit
Nag champa is one of my favorite scents. It mixes with the guava and hibiscus so beautifully.
